Blinged Out Visor

It's another day of the Imaginisce Rockin' ROCKS release. For today, I blinged out a $1 visor I got at Target (I think).  I used the new i-rock stencils - Large Flourishes and Bracket & Border. It comes with the stencil, the rocks and the flowers. This will be perfect for the beach this summer or maybe I'll break away from my scrapbook table and play a little tennis but probably not. ;)

For the center of the flower I made a small black silk flower and then put a black rock in the middle. It's hard to see in the pic but it looks great in person.

Cherry on Top Please

Are you a fan of bling?  If so, you have to check out the new i-rock embellishments that are being released today from Imaginisce. The new colors and textures are super fun and I'm pretty sure I can't live without these little beauties.  Check out this card I made using one of the new stencil kits, called Bracket & Border, and the new glitter Hot Rocks.

Supplies: Imaginisce Enchanted Papers, i-rock tool, new Hot Rocks glitter rocks, Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge.

I'm not sure if you can really see the glitter in the photo above but it's there and it just adds the extra touch of sparkle every cupcake sprinkle deserves.  I used the paper strips to anchor the card and then I used the stencil border to mimick the white cupcake frosting and put a red glitter hot rock on the top center of each to look like a cherry on top.

To make the cupcake, I cut the blue paper in a rectangle and then accordian folded it. Then I cut the top of the cupcake and the cherry from the Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge.  I covered the cupcake top with white lace to make it look like white frosting and went to town with ALL the new glitter hot rock colors to add the sprinkles.  The cherry on top was super fun to do. There are two sizes that the hot rocks come in so I covered the cherry with the larger ones and then filled in the empty spaces with the little rocks. Lastly, a little ric rack trims out the cupcake.

Street {graffiti} Artist

My girls love to play with sidewalk chalk but this particular day, they had sidewalk paint and a paint stick.  I captured these pics of Miss Reese going to town painting the street. The end result looked like graffiti but they had a blast!

I used the Hello, Sunshine kit from Scrapbook Circle that seems to keep going like the Duracell bunny and the photo placements from this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch. I also drew inspiration from a layout by Mou Saha that was included in February 2011 CK magazine.

Rheagan's Bunny Days

The girls look forward to their yearly visit to a local photo studio to play with the bunnies. It’s so hard to believe that Easter is just a few days away and we haven’t even taken the kids to see the Easter Bunny yet.

I have used the Hello Sunshine kit from Scrapbook Circle to it's fullest. It's just packed with so much srappy goodness and it's definitely my go-to stash.  When I got it in the mail I immediately chose my inspiration for this layout when I saw the Crate Paper Neighborhood collection chipboard, specifically the Easter Egg Banner so I set it aside and saved it.

The Egg banner is what inspired this entire layout; well that and Easter coming up.  I used the April sketch from Crate Paper and everything just fell into place so quickly with this layout,  giving me more time to prepare for this weekend’s festivities. I'm betting we'll visit the  Easter bunny on Friday.

Some Day...

Amanda over at The Studio asked us to create a page that focuses on PLAY. This could be in the form of photos of your kids playing or you could 'play' with a new technique or colour combo on your page. Use your imagination!

Supplies from May Scrapbook Circle kit: Emma's Shoppe Collection - Dolls, Books, Inventory and Accent Cuts papers, 6x6 ribbon, phrase stickers; Girls' Paperie Karlee chipboard alphabets monochromatic. Not in kit: Emma's Shoppe die-cuts, Adornit multi red tiny alphas, Tattered Angels Mists in Brick Red and Pearl.

I chose to focus on several things "play" related.  The most obvious is my daughter playing dress-up by sporting her big sisters shirt or maybe she was playing football or perhaps she was playing kitchen because of the apron. I'm just not sure but I do know that she was sooo cute and she was having a ball!  I also chose to play with mists to alter some of the alphas that came with the May kit from Scrapbook Circle.

I needed to do something to make the cream/black alphas show up against the cream background of the bracket.  I sprayed them all at once with the brick red mist. I let them sit a few seconds and then turned them over onto a paper towel to soak up the saturated mist.  I only let them soak on the towel a mili-second because I didn't want it to soak up too much of the mist.  I like how they turned out.

Strike a Pose

My daughter, she loves to strike a pose. I snapped these pics of her one day when I was actually trying to snap some pics of my littlest daughter in her little strawberry outfit.  These photos below were totally accidental and impromptu and totally exemplify my oldest.  This week's Sketchy Thursday sketch was too perfect for this photo sequence.  I love that they are including more 2-page layouts BUT don't let that scare you away...you can totally choose to do a one pager and still be eligible for the prize.

I had bought some Little Yellow Bicycle Twig collection  but couldn't quite find the right fit for them...until now. The colors were soo right and the sentiments were even better.

Bundle of Joy Brag Book Mini Album

It's Day 3 of the Imaginisce party celebrating the release of it's new collection, Little Cutie.  I've been playing around with this line and it is TDF cute.  Did you see the card I posted yesterday? I love that you can use it for a little baby BUT I also love that it can be used for non-baby scrappiness too.

As usual, the DT has created some incredible projects that are posted on the Imaginisce blog and they will be giving away a collection or two, three or four! Make sure to head over there AFTER you see the first project I created with the "girl" line of the collection.

Little Bundle of Joy Card

What better way to celebrate the birth of a new collection than to throw a party??? Imaginisce has released it's new line this week and it's called Little Cutie.  There's a boy version and a girl version of papers, stamps, die-cuts, stickers, chipboard elements and more.  It's seriously adorable.  Today, we are focusing on the little boy line. 

With a lot of fussy cutting and LOVE, I made this little card.

Supplies: Little Cutie Collection - Little Man paper, chipboard stickers; misc. baker's twine.

I had so much fun creating this card.  The sentiment is actually affixed to the inside of the card and shows throught the front through a window I cut out. I mentioned before that it includes lot of fussing cutting...all the little items hanging from the twine "clothesline", the scallops and the window were all cut by hand.  It's just what I do.  I had the white/chocolate twine and it just wasn't popping against the white background of the card so I misted it with some blue (Spring Rain) mist.

I lifted the items hanging from the clothesline with pop dots and hung a sock and bear over the sentiment window.  Then I curled up the scallops for dimension.

I can't wait to give this card away to someone special I am thinking of.

You Are Oh So Cute

I know I've said it before but I have to say it again...I LOVE this month's Scrapbook Circle kit. It just seems to never end. I've made about 5 or 6 layouts and projects and there's still so much left to play with and trust me I will use it all up!  I had the pleasure to lift a subscriber's layouts recently.  I just LOVE Sara's original layout and kept my version pretty close to hers.

Gone Fishin'

It's a new term with a new team and a new sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays! I'm soo excited!!!!! A few of us from the last term are still around and the new gals' designs are simply AMAZING so make sure to head over there and welcome them to the team and play along this week. The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is a BIG thing here every year. I think it goes on for about 3 - 4 weeks and it's HUGE, literally.  There are things for kids of ALL ages to do.  We go every year but we really only go for the kids.  We do the petting zoo, pony rides, livestock show and the carnival. There's so much more that we just don't have the time or a babysitter to do. We ended this year's visit with a fun little fishing game where "everyone's a winner".  Here's some photos of Rheagan :fishing".
